Concerts set to aid Portland musician Scott McCaughey

KOIN 6 News Staff - PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Tickets are now on sale for a benefit concert aimed at helping Portland musician Scott McCaughey, who suffered a stroke on Nov. 16.

"Help the Hoople" is a 2-night concert in Portland, starting on Jan. 5 at The Star Theater. The next concert is the following night. That one will be held at The Wonder Ballroom. There's also an online auction.

McCaughey is known as the leader of Portland and Seattle Bands The Minus 5 and The Young Fresh fellows and has been a touring guitarist for REM and Wilco, among others.
