PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A 30-year-old man now faces a charge of critically injuring a 6-month-old on April 5 in Aumsville.
Robert Andrew Pinsky told doctors the child fell off a couch at his home in the 600 block of 9th Street. He and the boy's mother, Shannon Crouch, share the home, though she was at a class at the time.
Pinsky took the boy, Roy Fast Jr., to the Santiam Hospital emergency room, but the staff called deputies when they saw the boy's injuries. He had head trauma and bone fractures they said, and these were injuries not consistent with falling off a couch. The boy was later transferred to Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
The boy remains in critical condition.
Pinsky was arrested April 23 and charged Tuesday with one count of assault in the first degree. He's being held in the Marion County Jail on $150,000 bail.
Residents along the East Coast and in the Appalachians woke up to heavy snow Tuesday.
The school had been closed since Friday, preventing students from taking exams during finals week.
The facility’s sewage treatment system stopped working.
Her death is considered a homicide.
