(KOIN) – Braden Shipley, the 15th overall pick in the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft, is set to join the Hillsboro Hops.
The team announced Wednesday that the 22-year-old Medford native is the highest draft pick the Arizona Diamondbacks have ever sent to the Northwest League.
The right-handed pitcher went 7-3 in his junior season at Nevada, with 102 strikeouts and a 2.77 ERA.
