Jeff Glor debuts on CBS Evening News Monday

Glor debuts at the main desk on December 4, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.

KOIN 6 News Staff - PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- When you tune in to the CBS Evening news Monday, you'll see the network's new anchor, Jeff Glor.

Glor, who has been with CBS News as a reporter and fill-in anchor for 10 years, was selected to replace Scott Pelley, who returned to "60 Minutes."

Glor told KOIN 6 News about his news philosophy and how to break through the loud voice of political polarization.

"Our job is to report down the middle and cover things as fairly and accurately and try not to get drowned out by any of those voices," Glor said. "What we do and what I do is news that doesn't have an agenda. If you have an agenda, I've always said I don't think you belong in this business."

Anthony Mason has been filling in since Pelley's departure and will return to his potion as evening news reporter and co-host of CBS' Saturday morning broadcast.

Glor debuts at the main desk on December 4, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.
