Outage leaves 2,500 without power in NW Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Thousands of people in Northwest Portland were left without power Monday morning.

As of 8 a.m., 2,564 customers were affected by the outage.

According to Portland General Electric, a downed tree on Sunday night caused majority of the outages.

CLASS Academy was delayed by 2 hours because of a tree that fell on a power line. The school was expected to open at 10 a.m., but closed for the day.

PGE said they hope to restore power to all households by 9:30 a.m. By 11 a.m., it appeared that majority of the 2,564 homes had power again.
