PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man, being investigated for an identity theft operation, fled a traffic stop while driving in a U-Haul before he was eventually tracked down and arrested in Forest Grove on Sunday.
Forest Grove Police arrested Garrett Pruitt-Rexroad, 27, and lodged him in Washington County Jail for attempting to elude a police officer, driving while suspended misdemanor and reckless driving.
Officers were investigating Pruitt-Rexroad in connection with identity theft. On Sunday, while officers were trying to apprehend Pruitt-Rexroad, officers served a search warrant at the McMenamins Grand Lodge, where Pruitt-Rexroad was a guest.
A search, according to officers, found evidence to a "aggravated" identiy theft operation that Pruitt-Rexroad was running out of his hotel room. Items related to manufacturing credit cards were also found.
