Man LifeFlighted after being extricated in Cornelius crash

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man was transported to the hospital via helicopter with life-threatening injuries after he crashed his pickup truck into a tree in Cornelius and had to be extricated by emergency responders.

This was a single-vehicle crash, according to a Forest Grove Fire spokesman. It happened while the driver was traveling westbound on Dixon Mill Road.

The reason for the crash is unknown at this time.

A spokesman said the crash was so intense that a wheel on the driver side went through the floor of the truck, causing severe leg trauma to the man.
