TV falls on, injures 6-week-old baby in Wash Co

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore. (KOIN) -- A 6-week-old baby was taken to the hospital after a television fell on top of the child, officials said.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue said the incident happened near Southwest 165th and Bany on Monday.

The baby was asleep on the carpet when the unsecured TV fell on the infant. The baby was taken to Doernbecher Children's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to officials, the family had the TV on a changing table that was not secured. TVF&R reminds parents that furniture should be secured at all times.
