(KOIN) – A 54-year-old suspect is accused of assaulting a man with a hammer in Lincoln Beach on the Fourth of July.
Richard Anthony Bergan reportedly hit a 58-year-old man in the face with a framing hammer at a residence in the 100 block of Sijota Street Thursday morning, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office reports.
After deputies interviewed the victim at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital, they arrested Bergan at his home, where they also recovered the alleged weapon. A motive for the attack was not disclosed.
Bergan was lodged in the Lincoln County Jail on one count of second-degree assault. His bail was set at $250,000.
