CANBY, Ore. (KOIN) -- A 55-year-old man died in an industrial accident when he was crushed by a 1600-pound plate of steel.
James Scruggs of Silverton died at BBC Steel, 2001 SE Township in Canby, where he worked for years, officials said. Emergency crews responded around 2:20 p.m.
OSHA is already at the facility investigating. Officials with the Canby Fire Department said BBC Steel has an excellent safety record.
