HILLSBORO, Ore. (KOIN) -- A former track coach has turned himself in following accusations of having an inappropriate relationship with a student at Portland's elite Catlin Gabel School.
Earlier this month Washington County detectives asked for the public's help tracking him down, saying they believed he could be on the run.
Deonte Huff was in Washington County court Tuesday afternoon to face those felony sex-abuse charges. He is a former Portland State University basketball star who had worked as a part-time middle school coach at Catlin Gable since 2010. He has since been fired from Catlin Gable, and court-ordered not to have contact with the female student involved.
Huff was arrested in May, but disappeared after he got out of jail on bail.
