SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) -- Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office say that a motorcyclist has died after crashing into a pickup on Brietenbush Road 16 miles north-east of Detroit, Oregon.
Emergency crews responded to the scene after 6:00 p.m. Friday evening, they found both the truck and the motorcycle on fire.
The driver of the pickup, 18 year-old Mary Chapman, and her passenger 22 year-old Zachary Mauser were not injured in the crash. The motorcycle rider, 54 year-old Roger Lambert was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe that Lambert lost control while riding his motorcycle on the road which is known for it's sharp turns and sudden elevation changes.
