(KOIN) – A Wilsonville motorcyclist is in serious condition after he collided head-on with a pickup truck in rural Washington County Thursday.
Just before noon, 25-year-old Justin Patey was ejected from his 2006 Suzuki when a 1994 Toyota pickup truck crashed into him on Highway 26 east of Manning.
Patey was airlifted to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center with significant injuries. The pickup's driver, 38-year-old Eric Lyon of Portland, was not hurt.
According to Oregon State Police (OSP), the westbound pickup was attempting a U-turn across the double-solid line when the eastbound motorcycle collided into the front of the truck. The highway had heavy stop-and-go traffic at the time, OSP said. Lyon also had limited visibility during the U-turn.
No citations or charges have been issued at this time. Police are still investigating.
