PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A body that was found floating in the Columbia River Sunday morning was identified as an escapee from a work release program in Clark County.
The body of Drake Edward Johnson, 27, was spotted by the U.S. Coast Guard just before 10:30 a.m. in the North Portland Harbor, near the Oregon Slouth Railroad Bridge.
On July 17, the Clark County Sheriff's Office listed him as an escapee. It's unknown at this time why Johnson was in jail.
The cause of his death remains under investigation.
The school had been closed since Friday, preventing students from taking exams during finals week.
The facility’s sewage treatment system stopped working.
Her death is considered a homicide.
