GRESHAM, Ore. (KOIN) – A Gresham man was found shot to death near the basketball court at a Gresham park Friday night.
The man, Paulino "Paul" Venancio-Lopez, 33, was found dead at the Red Sunset Park on NE Red Sunset Drive, police said. They initially responded to the area on a fireworks/disturbance call.
Another man, 22-year-old Omar Merino-Lopez, reportedly walked into an emergency room and said he had been shot in the leg. Merino-Lopez has ties to East County and is expected to live.
Police said the two shootings are possibly gang related, and an investigation by the Major Crimes Team is underway.
No other information is available at this time.
