PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The body of a Portland woman vacationing in Hawaii was found Monday night near Yokohama Bay.
Ivanice Harris, who was vacationing with friends to celebrate her 29th birthday, was last seen around 2:15 a.m. May 16 talking with a man outside of a bar in Waikiki.
Her body was found in bushes in a remote area of Oahu about 30 miles away from where she was last seen.
The medical examiner told KHON 2 News that the cause and manner of Harris' death is "Deferred pending further investigation."
In a phone interview with KOIN 6 News, her brother said Ivy -- as she was known -- worked as an escort in Portland was but trying to turn her life around.
"She was actually going to get out of the life," Ivan Harris said. "She wanted to go to college, and she was going to come live with me."
Her family is trying to raise the money necessary to bring her body back to Portland.
