PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Troutdale mother pleaded guilty to third-degree rape for having sex with her daughter's 15-year-old friend.
Tiffany Maydew changed her plea in a Multnomah County courtroom Tuesday. In May, she was indicted on two counts of third-degree sodomy and one count each of first-degree online sexual corruption of a child and third-degree rape.
In April, Gresham police Officer Travis Garrison -- a school resource officer for Sam Barlow High School -- received a report from Oregon DHS that a parent was having sex with a student. Garrison used district databases to confirm Maydew's daughter attended the school.
Police spoke to the student, who said he and Maydew had sex on several occasions. According to police, Maydew and the boy would make plans on Facebook. She then would drive him to remote locations where the sexual acts would occur.
Maydew, 40, told Judge Nan Waller she wanted to plead guilty to the rape charge. A sentencing date has not been set.
