PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Mozilla, the makers of the browser Firefox, are opening a Portland office, the company's first office anywhere in the US outside of the Bay area.
The Portland Business Journal reports Mozilla's new office in the Brewery blocks will employ about 40 people working on products. That includes the new Firefox O-S mobile phone operating system.
Mozilla scouted Portland for two years before deciding to make the Pearl District its local home.
Detectives are searching for a 5-month-old boy who was taken by his father during a custody transfer on Nov. 27, 2013.
