PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- One person died in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 5 in North Portland Monday afternoon.
The crash occurred at about noon on the northbound off-ramp to Hayden Island.
Lt. Michael Silva, a spokesperson for Portland Fire & Rescue, reports that the male driver was extricated from the vehicle. Attempts were made to revive the victim, but he died at the scene.
According to Portland police, officers were investigating whether the victim may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash. His name was not immediately released.
The off-ramp was expected to remain closed through at least 2 p.m. Drivers headed to Hayden Island were advised to continue north on I-5 into Washington, and then return southbound.
