PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) - A 36-year-old man is accused of driving to a Troutdale church parking lot this week to have sex with a minor.
James Michael Hill appeared in Multnomah County Circuit Court Thursday to be arraigned on one count each of first-degree online sexual corruption of a child, attempted third-degree sodomy and two counts each of attempted second-degree sexual abuse.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a Troutdale police officer contacted Hill at approximately 1 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of The Chapel Church, located at 27132 Southeast Stark Street.
Hill was in the driver’s seat and the victim, a 14-years-old boy, was in the passenger seat, court documents state. Hill told the officer that he met the victim online. The boy admitted that he had corresponded with Hill through email on his cellphone.
Police said Hill eventually admitted that he planned to meet the boy and engage in sexual behavior. During a search, officers found Hill in possession of Trojan condoms, the documents read.
During an interview with detectives, the victim showed police the emails Hill and the boy had sent to one another.
A court appointed attorney entered a not-guilty plea on Hill’s behalf. His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 4.
