(KOIN) – Nine men were taken into custody Thursday as part a prostitution sting in Tigard.
According to Tigard police, detectives conducted the operation at a local hotel. The sting was in response to complaints from several local businesses regarding the increase in prostitution activity in the area.
On May 16, five men were arrested in a similar operation in which detectives placed two fake online listings advertising prostitution services. Those ads generated 75 calls, Tigard police said.
The suspects in Thursday's arrests were lodged in the Washington County Jail on charges of patronizing a prostitute. Their names were not released.
