(KOIN) – One of the suspects involved in a liquor theft at a Vancouver Safeway late Monday night pulled out a Taser when she was confronted by employees.
Vancouver police report that at approximately 11:40 p.m., the four women and one man swiped several liquor bottles from a Safeway located at East Mill Plain Boulevard and North Andresen Road. According to police, when employees confronted the group, one of the women activated a handheld Taser. The suspects ran out to a waiting car and fled. None of the employees were hurt.
The suspect vehicle has been recovered by police, and its owner was questioned, police said. All five suspects are believed to be Portland area residents. Surveillance photos of the incident have been released.
