Rapist accused of 2 assaults after removing tracker

The alleged attacks happened on Sept. 29

KOIN 6 News Staff - PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Convicted rapist Dennis Davis is accused of assaulting 2 women during the time he was wanted by authorities for allowing his GPS tracking device to die in September.

Davis has a history of evading authorities by removing his GPS tracking device, including in July 2017, for which he served 75 days in jail. It was just days after he was released for that parole violation that he is accused of attacking 2 women on September 29, 2017.

Multnomah County officials said he allowed his tracking device to die on Sept. 26 and was arrested again on Sept. 30. Since then, he has been back in jail.

Davis faces 2 counts of 4th degree assault and harassment for the alleged attacks.

The 58-year-old has a long criminal history and spent more than 20 years in prison for rape, sodomy and kidnapping. He was released in June 2015 and since that time has been jailed multiple times for parole violations.
