Rat on plane cancels Alaska Airlines flight to PDX

Flight 915 was scheduled to take off from Oakland at 9:37 a.m.

KOIN 6 News Staff - PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Passengers already on an Alaska Airlines flight from Oakland to Portland had to deplane during boarding on Tuesday morning after a rat jumped inside the aircraft, the airline confirmed.

Flight 915 was cancelled. It was scheduled to take off from Oakland at 9:37 a.m. and land at Portland International Airport at 11:33 a.m.

The rat was spotted while the plane was boarding at approximately 8:30 a.m.

The plane is currently out of service and will be back and running once an exterminator declares it rodent-free.

Alaska Airlines said most of the 110 passengers scheduled to fly to Portland were rescheduled for a flight later Tuesday. An unconfirmed number of passengers will fly to Portland on Wednesday.
