Hiker dies after 150-ft fall at Angel's Rest

Samuel Cha, 31, died after hiking in the Gorge on Wednesday

KOIN 6 News Staff - PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) --- A 31-year-old Vancouver man who fell during a hike in the Columbia River Gorge Wednesday afternoon died a day later, officials said.

Samuel Cha was hiking with 2 family members at Angel's Rest when he became light headed and sat down, according to Multnomah County Sheriff's Office. Whatever he was sitting on reportedly gave way, and he fell about 150 feet.

Crews used a high angle rope rescue to bring him down to a park, where LifeFlight took him to Oregon Health & Science University for treatment of critical injuries.
