What's Working: Franklin HS at Marshall Campus

Franklin High School students will attend classes at Marshall Campus for 2 years

Elishah Oesh and KOIN 6 News Staff - PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) --- For the next 2 years, students at Franklin High School will call the Marshall Campus home as their old campus gets some much-needed updates.

"This will be our primary entrance, it's very similar to the old site," Franklin High School Vice Principal Chris Frazier said. "There's parking on the north side and on the south side, so they'll get used to that."

The transition between the old and new buildings at the school is on time and on budget, with only minor changes for students.

"It's really user friendly and, again, having access where there's 4 main halls where students can navigate," Frazier said.

A major change on the Marshall Campus: a big new sign for Franklin High School.

There are just a few small projects left to be completed before students walk through the doors on August 27.

"You can see the boxes appropriately labeled," Frazier said. "We've got tables and chairs here, so all the teacher really has to do is finish this set up piece."

School officials are focused on making students feel like the new building is their own. While the walls have changed, the school spirit remains alive.

"We want to make sure our students know that although they are at the Marshall Campus, this is still Franklin," Frazier said. "This is still home."
