PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- There's no wrong way to wrap an ankle to stop the swelling, said Lani Doser, a nurse practitioner at Providence Health and Services.
"Usually I start at your toes and work toward your heart," she said.
There are more sprains, strains and back injuries now that the warmer temperatures are in and around Portland.
"People are starting to do outdoor activities, that can be gardening, soccer, all the things you do when you exercise your muscles."
That extra activity can cause minor injuries in muscles that may not have been used in a while. But if there's a sharp or unbearable pain, go see a doctor.
"Good idea to use a little bit of rest, a little bit of ice, Tylenol, and see if that gets better for you," she said.
Exercising year-round is the best way to prevent these injuries, she said, and recommended downloading an app from the American Red Cross called First Aid that will provide instant access to information about handling first aid emergencies.
Icy conditions caused the rollover. The driver was not hurt.
The man is accused of trying to bomb the Jackson County prosecutor's office to avoid being sentenced on a burglary charge.
An abandoned home that was both an eyesore to residents in a Northeast Portland neighborhood and frequently visited by police was finally demolished Tuesday.
The state isn't capping the number of growers or processors, but says it will only allow 334 pot shops statewide.
