Staying safe with fireworks this 4th of July

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The dry conditions we’ve been experiences couldn’t come at a worst time, as July 4th and the fireworks sales that come with it are right around the corner.

In Oregon, the sale of consumer fireworks starts on June 2, just less than two weeks away. While it may be an Independence Day tradition for many — it can be a tragedy for many who suffer injuries due to the misuse of fireworks.

Tammy Owen, the public information officer for Clackamas County Fire, joined AM Extra to talk about firework safety.
