West coast mayors in Portland for 2-day summit

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The city of Portland is hosting the West Coast Mayors Summit Thursday and Friday.

According to a press release, Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti will be in attendance, along with host Portland Mayor Charlie Hales. The goal of the summit is to “exchange information and best practices, develop a joint federal agenda, and identify action items on mutual issues.”

Homelessness is on the agenda for Thursday, followed by a discussion of climate action on Friday.
