PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Autumn Harvest returned to Portland for the sixth year to raise money for cancer research over a decadent meal. The dinner was hosted by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Saturday night in The Loft at 8th Avenue.
Described as, “one of Portland’s most exclusive culinary events,” the dinner featured 9 courses of the best food, wine, spirits and more that the city has to offer. Participants also bid on auction items during the event.
All of the money raised was in support of child cancer research, as well as helped the hospital pay for patients’ medical bills.
“They actually got to rip up a hospital bill,” said Coury Shadyac of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Tonight, the funds that they’re donating actually help St. Jude deliver on our promise that no family will ever receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food, so that all families have to worry about it letting their child live.”
KOIN 6 Morning Anchor Jenny Hansson returned for the 6th year to emcee the auction. The hospital’s Executive Directory said Saturday night’s event blew through their goal of $200,000.
