EUGENE, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman working in Eugene as a prostitute was given an exotic tip after a recent sexual transaction. A Galago primate named Gooey.

According to Eugene Police, Gooey was reported stolen from the Zany Zoo Pet Store in early March. During the investigation, police found the animal in a hotel room with a prostitute. She told detectives she received the monkey from Nathan McClain as a tip for sexual services. McClain is also the owner of Zany Zoo Pet Store.

Detectives say McClain paid the prostitute in deposit money from the store, as well as donation money from the store that was supposed to go to Girl Scouts. Those items, including a laptop computer, were also reported stolen from the pet store but police say those reports aren’t true.

McClain was arrested twice during this investigation, once by Oregon State Police in Albany on March 19. Troopers observed McClain leaving the porn store next to their office and say he appeared to be on meth. He was booked into the Linn County jail.

McClain was subsequently interviewed by Eugene Police, who say he was on meth then as well. He was arrested April 21 and taken to the Lane County jail.

As for Gooey, police say he is doing well and is safe at a nearby animal sanctuary.
