PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Organizers for the Portland Film Festival said it’s all about celebrating the power of a good story.
“This year we have so many different film screenings,” said Josh Leake, the executive director for the non-profit organization. “We have James Earl Jones in one of the films and on opening night we had Billy Crystal. It’s just cool to see film screenings in Portland.”
This year’s festival is being held at the Hi-Lo Hotel in downtown Portland.
Friday’s and Saturday’s events begin with a Directors Coffee Chat at 11:30 a.m. followed by a series of workshops, documentaries, shorts and new films for screening.
The Director’s Award will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The Portland Film Festival runs through October 20.
