Portland Greek Festival: Delicacies, dancing and demonstrations

The Greek Festival goes on until Sunday at 8 p.m.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) —The 68th Annual Portland Greek Festival was in full swing Saturday at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

Held at Northeast 32nd and Glisan, the festival included the Hellenic-American Cultural Center and tours of the church. There were also imported rugs, jewelry, and textiles from Greece for visitors to admire.

Of course, there was a variety of delicious food and plenty of dancing to go around.

“I love all of the dancing, and how it’s so different from what everyone else does,” said one festival-goer. “And all of the food is great—the music and everything. It’s really fun.”

The celebration featured cooking demonstrations on how to make authentic Greek dishes and desserts.

The Greek Festival will be open until 10 p.m. on Saturday, and continue on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. The full schedule of events can be found at the festival’s website.
