PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A local family-run ice cream company is adding some spooky flavors this Halloween season.

For the month of October, Salt and Straw will be showcasing its “Spooktacular Series” of chilly desserts. Some original creations include “Blood Pudding,” which combines warm spices with cream and pig’s blood, and “Crawly Critters,” a green matcha ice cream containing “tasty swarms of real bugs!”

Ice cream makers also concocted a “Mummy’s Pumpkin Spice Potion,” “The Great Candycopia” and a “Black Cat Licorice & Lavender” for those who prefer treats over tricks.

The Portland-based company creates their own menu, which cycles in new flavors every 4 weeks. These seasonal scoops can be found at any of the local locations or online for nationwide delivery.

The flavors go on sale starting Friday, October 4.
