PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A hazmat team rushed to Precision Cast Parts Wednesday afternoon after a pipe broke potentially spilling hyrdochloric acid and nitric acid, Clackamas Fire told KOIN 6 News.
A truck carrying those chemicals was off loading when the pipe broke. The hazmat team responded to determine which or both chemicals were leaking. The leak was stopped around 2:30 p.m, but the hazmat team stayed at the scene to monitor the situation.
No one was reported hurt, but Johnson Creek is shut down at this time.
About 600 employees were evacuated from the building but remain on site.
