PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man trying to jump into the Molalla River from a swinging rope fell and injured his leg Monday.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said the 58-year-old landed on a rock and fractured his leg. His son went to the road and flagged someone down to call for help.
The Clackamas Fire District had to use a high-angle rope rescue to get to the man, who was at the bottom of an embankment. They extended the ladder from a fire engine and then hoisted him up in a Stokes basket.
