PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Underage decoys were able to buy alcohol from 6 Lake Oswego businesses in an ongoing effort to oversee sales to minors, police said Thursday.
In all, the decoys went to 34 businesses in Lake Oswego and showed their legitimate ID which clearly indicated they were under the age of 21.
The 6 businesses that did sell alcohol to minors are:
Aji Tram, 4477 Lakeview Boulevard; Ivy’s Grill, 15630 Boones Ferry Road; Lake Oswego Liquor Store, 644 N State Street; Safeway, 401 A Avenue; St. Honore Bakery, 315 1st Street.; and Roots Public House 1377 McVey Avenue.
Businesses are required to check ID for anyone who seems younger than 26. A business caught selling alcohol to minors could be cited and fined at least $440.
Lake Oswego police said they would conduct more of these underage decoy operations.
