PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman was rescued after she drove her car off a cliff in Eagle Creek Monday night.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said the driver Kristin Ann Madden left the Eagle Creek Saloon and then drove off a cliff near Southeast Heiple Road and Southeast Samuels Road. She called 911 but didn’t know exactly where she was.

Deputies eventually found tire tracks going off the road and saw the woman’s car at the bottom of the cliff.

It took heavy rescue equipment and multiple fire departments to get Madden out, but she was not badly hurt.

She was taken to the hospital for her minor injuries and cited instead of being taken into custody for DUII. She told deputies a squirrel made her go off the road.
