VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN) — The Clark County Recycled Arts Festival is celebrating its 14th year this Saturday and Sunday.
The event will take place at Esther Short Park in Vancouver.
More than 130 vendors will show how they’re making old things new again.
One of the vendors turns lightly-used shipping containers into affordable houses. One such 320-square-foot studio could be used for an additional living unit on an existing property or as an affordable solution for homelessness.
Clark County’s Environmental Outreach Specialist Michelle Picinich says 75% of the materials that go into the items for sale are reclaimed or recycled items that would have gone to a landfill.
