Dive teams search for child at Horseshoe Lake

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Dive teams searched the water at Horseshoe Lake for hours after getting reports that a child may have drowned.

Sgt. James Keller told KOIN 6 News 10 search swimmers and the Cowlitz County dive team were called to the lake in Woodland around 7 p.m.

Officials said someone at the lake called 911 because the suspected a child had gone into the water.

“After talking to the reporting party, it is not a confirmed drowning,” Keller said.

Dive teams continued searching into the evening for a blond boy wearing blue shorts.
