Woman arrested in man’s death at Camas home

Clark County

Shocked neighbors told KOIN 6 News the area is usually quiet and described the man and woman as good people

CAMAS, Wash. (KOIN) — Crime scene technicians were still working at a Camas home Monday evening where a man was found dead Sunday night.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office first got a report of a disturbance with a firearm at a home on the 19400 block of Southeast 42nd Circle around 8 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found a man and a woman inside, and the man was dead.

On Monday, deputies arrested 47-year-old Stephanie Westby. She was charged with one count of First-degree Murder.

Shocked neighbors too shaken up to speak on camera told KOIN 6 News the area is usually quiet and described the man and woman as good people.

Neighbors said the family is kind and close within their cul-de-sac. They also say the couple has two teenaged children; the teens are being cared for by family friends.

Westby is expected to appear in court Tuesday for an arraignment.
