PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 32-year-old skateboarder was hit and critically hurt by a dump truck after he lost control coming down a hill in downtown Vancouver on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
Police believe the skateboarder, later identified as Jordan Tibbetts, was traveling north on D Street from 13th and entered traffic at Mill Plain Boulevard at D Street, which is when he was hit by the truck around 3 p.m.
One man told KOIN 6 News he heard from witnesses that Tibbetts hit the side of the dump truck and then was run over.
Tibbetts was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries after the collision happened. Vancouver Police said on Wednesday that Tibbetts is in critical condition.

Vancouver police said 2 eastbound lanes of Mill Plain are closed and will be until the investigation is complete. Authorities said the driver of the truck is cooperating with the investigation and added that there are no indications of impairment.
