PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man was attacked while jogging in a rural part of Marion County Friday afternoon.

The 18-year-old jogger told sheriff’s deputies that he was on Taylor Park Road SE near Mobley Lane SE when he was attacked by someone who came out of the woods, armed with a knife, and wearing a black ski mask. The victim was left with non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. His parent reported the attack to police around 2:17 p.m.

The suspect was described as being a white man of an undetermined age, who was six-feet tall and roughly 200 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask, black coat, and jeans.

While authorities searched the wooded area where the attack happened, they have not yet found the suspect. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said their detectives are investigating the assault.
