The box was determined to be empty

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The parking lot of a Key Bank branch in Salem was evacuated after a police bomb squad arrived to investigate a suspicious package on Monday morning.

The Key Bank is in the 4800 block of Lancaster Drive NE. After about an hour of investigation, police announced the box was determined to be empty and the parking lot was reopened.

Officers say surveillance footage shows a man leaving the empty box outside on Sunday morning. The man had long hair, was wearing a beanie, gloves and had black electrical tape covering his mouth.
