PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Flames and smoke billowed from the attack of a Northeast Portland home Thursday evening.
Firefighters responded to the blaze in the 6100 block of Northeast Ainsworth at around 5:30 p.m.
Crews said the fire was out about an hour later.
Everyone who lives in the house appeared to make it out safely without getting hurt, according to Portland Fire and Rescue.
Investigators were working to find out the cause of the fire.
A second house fire had firefighters rushing to 3717 Northeast 78th Avenue around 7 p.m.
Portland Fire and Rescue said the fire broke out on the second floor of a 2-story home and witnesses were concerned the elderly couple who lived there were trapped.
Officials said everyone living at the home appeared to make it out safely.
