Body found in Willamette River ID’d as Owen Klinger

His cause of death has not been released

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The body found in the Willamette River on Sunday near the St. Johns Bridge has been identified as Owen Klinger, Portland police said.

The Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on the body on Monday and released the identity on Tuesday. Officials have not announced a cause of death.

The 18-year-old was the subject of numerous searches after he vanished more than 2 weeks ago.

Owen Klinger disappeared on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 6 after he told his friends he was going to a team meeting.

Dispatchers took the call about a body being found around 1 p.m. Sunday. KOIN 6 News learned the body was found on the beach near the Nustar fuel dock in the 9400 block of NW St. Helens Road.
