PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The 11th annual Slavic Festival happened Sunday at Gateway Discovery Park.
The festival puts a spotlight on many different cultures in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
It also highlights the multicultural aspects of many neighborhoods in Portland.
“It grew into something that is so multicultural and that’s what East Portland is all about,” said Timur Holove with the Slavic Community Center of Northwest. “There are over 68 different languages spoken in East Portland. And we’re just showcasing a really really small portion of it.”
There was food and dancing and a movie in the park at Dusk.
