PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — About an hour after a search began, a man’s body was recovered from the water near Kelley Point Park on the Columbia River.
The first report that a swimmer was underwater was made just after 10 p.m., the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said. The River Patrol arrived and began to look. Then, around 11:10 p.m., his body was found, authorities said.
Deputies identified the man as 22-year-old Carlos Lara-Escudero of Portland.
No further details have been released and the investigation is ongoing.
