Driver bound, carjacked before shooting at Mt. Tabor

Multnomah County

The victims were not harmed

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two men carjacked someone at the Barbur Transit Center Tuesday evening and then fired gunshots at Mt. Tabor Park.

The victim — a young man — had his hands tied behind his back and a bag put over his head, his family told KOIN 6 News.

Portland police said the victim was driven in his own car to Mt. Tabor Park where 2 people at the park saw the bound victim and asked what was going on.

That’s when the 2 suspects opened fire.

No one was hurt but after the shooting, the suspects drove away in the stolen car. They left the owner of the car behind.

“It’s a very sad thing to hear that people would do something like that,” said Jeremy Hester, who lives near Mt. Tabor Park. “Especially having an already crime that was so bad turn into something that was even worse.”

The suspects are 2 black men in their late 20s driving a 2007 BMW 525 with Oregon license plate 001DDR.
