Scooperfest featured flavors from local brands

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — It was perfect weather for an all you can eat ice cream buffet in Portland on July 21 — aka National Ice Cream Day.

Scooperfest brought ice cream lovers to Pioneer Courthouse Square to enjoy unlimited samples from brands like Tillamook, Turkey Hill, Cascade Glacier and Future Pops.

Tickets for the all you can eat festival started at $15 but Lisa Sellars got her money’s worth.

“It’s hot under this tent honestly but we’re surrounded by delicious ice cream and sherbert and cake pops so it’s cooling us off pretty good,” Sellars said.

Her favorite of more than a dozen samples was the Maui Waui sherbet from Cascade Glacier.

“It’s a fun little thing to come out and so, I’ve never heard of something going on like this so it’s pretty fun,” Sellars said.

There was also a water slide for kids to cool off in.

Organizer Craig Marquardo told KOIN lines were down the block on Saturday morning.
